Visit www.leg.state.co.us to find legislatures in your area.
The candidates we support are listed below. All members are encouraged to participate in the tour and interview process. Please contact the hall for more information.
Plumbers Local Union # 3 COPE Endorsements:
John Hickenlooper has been endorsed as our candidate for Governor. Scott McInnis, one of his opponents held his candidacy press conference at RK Mechanical. We think Hickenlooper will be a sound Governor.
HD 27 Representative Sara Gagliardi- Sara has been a strong supporter of working families and has worked with our local on several issues in the past. We have no doubt that Sara will continue to stand up for our rights.
HD 34 Representative John Soper - John knows our issues surrounding licensing, codes and the lack of enforcement. John is a retired IBEW 68 electrician and is another one who will spot ways that we may be affected and alert us to the problem. John is a good friend to labor and working families.
HD 33 Representative Dianne Primavera - Dianne is another strong supporter with a 100% voting record for Labor.
Jefferson County Commissioner Kathy Hartman has also received our support and endorsement.
Senator Lois Tochtrop (SD 24) also received our endorsement. Lois has been a stellar Senator fighting for working men and women.
Matt Jones is another strong Labor minded man running for House District 12, which serves Louisville, Lafayette and parts of Longmont. Matt is a well known and proven supporter of Labor. This race will be in 2010, but unfortunately (at this point) this race will involve a primary. Please visit Matts website at: http://www.mattjonesforcolorado.com/
| "Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes you can do these things. Among them are . a few . Texas oil millionaires, and an occasional politician or business man from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid."
-- President Dwight D. Eisenhower, November 8, 1954 |
